Now more than ever, we're committed to helping support our community and hard-working team members. As part of that commitment, we have several initiatives in place to provide much needed food, grants and on-going support for those who need it most.
Reducing food scarcity
The impact of COVID-19 has been devastating. To help those affected by the COVID-19 crisis, the global Yum! Brands Foundation are donating $160,000 to Foodbank Australia. The donation will provide over 320,000 meals to people in need. In addition, excess food will continue to be sent to distribution centres and food shelters across Australia as part of KFC Australia’s an ongoing 15-year partnership with Foodbank.
Supporting our people
It's during tough times that we need each other most. As a company that prides itself on putting people first, we'll be offering a $1000 grant to all restaurant employees diagnosed with COVID-19, or to those caring for someone diagnosed in their household, as part of the Yum! Brands Foundation Global Employee Medical Relief Fund.
KFC Youth Foundation
90% of our restaurant team members are under 25, so building confidence in young Aussies everywhere is a cause that's pretty close to our heart. Through the KFC Youth Foundation, we're backing community partners and raising funds for mentorship, skills development, mental wellbeing and overcoming disadvantage.
We're devastated by what's happened with the bushfires and the devastating impact they've had on communities across Australia. To help those areas affected by the bushfires, KFC Australia, our franchisee community and the Yum! Brands Foundation have banded together to donate $700,000 to the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery fund.
